Graduating from Southern Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, he went on to pastor several churches throughout the south and also pursue individual and family counseling.

Doug speaks and teaches from his own painful past, forced termination from the pastorate, subsequent traumatic divorce and plunge into single parenthood, all which lead him into years of living in anger, bitterness, frustration, physical sickness, resulting in deep depression and years of anti-depression medication. Through the inner healing and guidance of the Holy Spirit, Doug was able to come to terms with his painful past and as a result of his healing, began and founded Wellspring Ministries International in 1995 providing the tools that are necessary for inner healing and renewal from personal, spiritual, and emotional issues of the past. Never one to shy away from tough topics Doug has made the big D’s, Death and Divorce-center stage in two of his career’s most notable achievements, GriefQuest ™and DivorceQuest ™ renewal programs and curricula.

But there’s more to Doug Lawson than help for the hurting, He is acclaimed for his excellence as an inspirational and motivational speaker both nationally and internationally, he is a teacher, author, counselor and corporate trainer.
